today's AMAZING TV AD : honda's "cog" 2 minute tv spot

for more on this, go to this post : http://the-wawam-file.blogspot.com/2008/04/cog-honda-tv-spot-another-amazing-ad.html; april 14 post.
the inspiration is mount pinatubo when some years ago, all of a sudden, after decades of being dormant, it decided to erupt, spewing debris and ash several kilometers high, blowing ashes to float everywhere, far and wide, turning the skies gloomy gray as far away as metro manila, hundreds of kilometers away, covering metro manila streets and rooftops with thick ash. the pinatubo eruption was so powerful that its ashes changed the color of sunsets not only in the philippines but also worldwide.

that's what happens when clients and advertising agencies decide to run ads not worthy to be called advertising. its dark, its huge and very irritating and unfortunately, everywhere!

all they are doing is wawam! what a waste of advertising money!

here is a first row view of Philippine Advertising and Philippine Marketing.

mount pinatubo erupts shooting ashes several kilometers high, then floating to blanket many other towns hundreds of kilometers away

100 years of good luck

The 100 Years Of Good Luck Photo # 1

The 100 Years Of Good Luck Photo #3

this happened over the week-end. it was a lazy saturday morning, woke up cold as it was raining that time as it did the whole night, the previous night.

my son asked me to cook eggs for him. it's a special recipe and he said he missed the eggs i cook. so i did. as it has been part of the recipe, i needed to break the eggs into a bowl first. the first egg broke and went alright without fanfare. but the second one was different!

it shocked me that when i broke it, 2 yolks came out!

well, i don't cook much and i don't bake at all. but i have been cooking eggs for a long time and this was the first time ever that i saw an egg with two yolks in it. i called my son to look at it. he was amazed as well.

what a lucky boy he is, he saw an egg with two yolks at age 11 and here i am at my age and seeing one only for the first time in my life just now! he has something to tell his children - at age 11, he saw an egg with two yolks!

we were both happy. and i took pictures for posterity, to mark the day - august 2, 2008.

then, my 11 year old son said something, "Dad, that must mean something! I think that will bring us good luck!"

well, yeah, that was an excellent thought. hmmm, i think we just earned for ourselves 100 years of good luck! 50 years for each yolk! that's very much like finding the goose that laid the golden egg!

good morning to all!
